What is polyurethane foam injection?

Polyurethane foam injection is a modern foundation repair and concrete leveling technique used to lift and stabilize sunken slabs, such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, or interior floors. It is a quick, clean, and minimally invasive alternative to traditional methods like mudjacking.

How it works:

Small holes (about the size of a coin) are drilled into the affected concrete. A specialized two-part polyurethane foam is then injected beneath the slab. As the foam expands, it fills gaps and voids in the soil, lifting the concrete back to its original position. Once the process is complete, the holes are patched, and the area is ready for use—usually within hours.

Benefits:

  • Lightweight but strong material
  • Quick curing time (usually 15 minutes or less)
  • Waterproof and long-lasting
  • Minimal disruption to surrounding areas

Polyurethane foam injection is ideal for minor to moderate settling and is often used in residential, commercial, and municipal repairs. While it may not suit every situation, it’s a fast and effective foundation repair method when soil erosion or voids are the main issue.
